The Crocodile River separates the protected grassland slopes on the northern portion of this beautiful Highveld site from the proposed mixed-use farm development in the southern region. The masterplan is divided into five distinct zones: a working micro herb farm, a residential estate, a multi-use function venue & farmer’s market, a boutique hotel & restaurant and a series of pathways, pavilions and terraces that meander through a botanical garden of fruit trees, herbs & wild flowers. The architectural design manifests as a hybridized aesthetic in which the dialogue between ‘shed’ and ‘sculptural camouflage’ is constantly in flux.
