PERGOLA HOUSE, JOHANNESBURG, 2017
A pitched timber and polycarbonate pergola is the single architectural gesture of this proposal for a small heritage residence in a leafy Johannesburg suburb. The structure adds a generous outdoor north-facing living room to the 1930’s house and goes some way to calm the sillouette of the roof-scape by acknowledging the formal symmetry of the original structure.
